The Oldest Debate in Geekdom by the-batcomputer The Oldest Debate in Geekdom by the-batcomputer
This is the crew of the Original Enterprise fighting the crew of the Next Generation Enterprise, from Star Trek, at the behest of Q (who is the guy sticking out of the wall) Clockwise from him is Scotty (TOS), who is being phasered by Geordi Laforge (TNG). Between them is Lt. Cmdr. Worf (TNG) choking two "red shirts" (TOS). Continuing clockwise we have Lt. Nyota Uhura (TOS) and Lt. Cmdr. Deanna Troi (TNG) engaged in a cat-fight. Mr. Spock (TOS) tries to use the vulcan nerve pinch on Lt. Cmdr. Data (TNG)... who is an android. Dr. "Bones" McCoy (TOS) shows Dr. Beverly Crusher (TNG) the back of his hand. Finally, as the centerpiece, Cpt. James T. Kirk (TOS) cold-cocks Cpt. Jean-Luc Picard (TNG).

Done in late 2006.

Wow... 400 Faves! Thanks Guys! I'm so glad everyone likes this!

Q WOULD instigate something like this.

Oh, it's such a hard choice for me...I mean, I prefer TNG as a series, but some of the characters are tough.

My call:

Picard vs. Kirk--Picard. I like Kirk a lot, but definitely Picard.
Bones vs. Bevs--Grrr, that's one of the toughies. I love McCoy to death, but Crusher's one of my favorite Trek characters on the whole, so her.
Spock vs. Data--I, just...you can't even...you can't even ask this, I don't think. Somewhere there's a universal law against it.
Uhura vs. Troi--Like both, but probably Uhura.
Work vs. dem red shirts--Well. Gee.
Geordi vs. Scotty--Another one that's nigh impossible! A draw!!

I love them both.  Winners and losers were determined purely on comedic value.

I've seen both series...and I don't care who wins, so long as I get to watch Q! (Yes, I'm an obsessed John de Lancie fan, but I don't care! The man is too sexy for his own good!)

To be honest, I think TNG is going to win. Spock is trying a NERVE pinch on an ANDROID, which as no actual biological nervous system, therefore, no nerves. Plus, there's Worf's Klingon strength, and Geordi's phaser. Finally, if Picard ends up bruised too much, I think Q might actually stop the fight, since he seems to care for Picard a bit.

I'm totally joking. I'm about the hardest person in the world to offend. People who get offended over comments on their fanart are just... sad.

Cool. I wasn't sure. It's so hard to express sarcasm when you're not their to actually talk to the person and I totally agree... about the fanart, not TOS beating Next Gen.

Kirk never had his ship hijacked by a fictional villain from a Sherlock Holmes novel. And letting said character have access to the Enterprise's tech manuals was an epic fail on Picard's part if you ask me. Kirk wins.

:iconziriath:
Ziriath Featured By Owner Apr 26, 2011
In fact, Kirk gave acces to Enterprise's tech manuals to Khan Noonien Singh. Spock doubted it was a wise decision, and he was right.
But TOS still wins.

A lot of the comments on this pic are "I think this one wins and thats that!" Why can't we agree that they are both awesome in their own ways? If it's strength we're talking about, TNG would win because of Data and Worf, but if it's a contest of overall awesomeness, then they are both winners because they're Star Trek.
